Dear Florence:
I have used the following software tools and have found supermemo the most
helpful.
http://www.super-memo.com/supermemo/index.html

A good freeware scripture memorization tool provided by Stephen Bentley who
is a Christian.

Hope this is useful.
God bless,

Have a great day and it's wonderful to hear your desire to harbour more of
God's word in your heart.

Hi,

My name is Florence Scholl and I have been memorizing chapters of =
Scripture with a friend for about two years. We work on our chapters =
while we walk. I have printed them out on large cards with large print =
and we are able to read them while we walk. This has been a great help =
and encouragement to both of us. Our one problem is review and retention =
and I think a computer program would help. I am looking for something =
for Windows 98. I thought I found a good one but after downloading found =
out that it was from the Mormons. It is called Scriptorian. Does anyone =
know of a similar program that is not from the Mormon religion? Thanks =
for your help. Florence

group (18-24, though, is not a small group, I guess). I am glad there is
such a great interest. We just finished the first 8 verses of John as a
whole, then each individual are working on a verse of their own each week.
Keep up the good work

I am a youth pastor and some of my students are starting to memorize now
that it is a part of my life. You have to lead by example and your example
is your passion.

Thanks for your good letter, Mark! I appreciated it very much. No problem
on the length - you had a lot of good things to say!

That's great! Must be getting close. Did you have to do a thesis? What are
you planning to do upon graduation?

>Now for my Scripture memory background ...

Very interesting! Some things similar to my experiences, some things a
little different. I have not used many of the special memory techniques
(though perhaps I should), but have mainly used periodic review to maintain
a lot of verses I have learned over the years.

> ... Its the same story - you begin a

Yes, I identify! :) Takes a lot of "starting over" sometimes.

Well, hope we can keep in touch. I'd like to pray for you and your family
and the ministry that the Lord leads you to. Would you like to get our
email news and prayer requests?

All for now. God bless - and may the conclusion to your seminary training
not be overly hectic!

Yours in Christ,

Fellow memorisers,

I have just written a wee program for Windows to help with my own Bible
verse memorisation. I've made it available for download on my web
pages:

http://www.ccir.ed.ac.uk/~jad/software.html

I can assure you all that it is not a Mormon program. :) I hope that
others will find it of benefit.

Best regards,

Subject: Introductory Comments
From: "Carl N. Giordano"

It was so wonderful to read all the comments and suggestions of those who
are excited about memorizing Scriptures. I have been walking with the
Lord now for 21 years. I have memorized many Scriptures at random but
never books or chapters at a time. This is why I joined this list. I need
all the encouragement I can get. It amazes me that many of you have
memorized whole books but then again when I think of the power of the
Holy Ghost to bring all things to our remembrance how can I be amazed.
When we yield to Him, He is surely One Who comes alongside us to help us.
I ask you for your prayers and suggestions.
I heard a preacher say that he memorizes Scriptures according to topics.
Then he has several Scripturers on hand when witnessing or discussing a
certain subject. This is what I basically have done over the years.
I tried to download LampLight but it keeps going to my Adobe Reader and
won't work in this file. Could someone help me?
God Bless You A'll,
Connie
